In today’s atmosphere of global chaos and uncertainty, the perception of technology and its impact on humanity has shifted.
The democratization and hyper-acceleration of technology has empowered developing populations, businesses, and nations to compete against entrenched incumbencies, but it has also made it more difficult to build trusting, lasting relationships; the types of relationships that spark community, enlightenment and prosperity. In a world where “post-truth” has been added to the Oxford dictionary, it is impossible to ignore the call to serve, to act, to create, and to lead with life or death urgency. As the creators of Politik, The Canadian Cloud Council and Highrise, our team has embarked upon a lifelong mission to ensure innovation is applied for the benefit of the greater good and has been recognized by the United Nations, Avenue Magazine, Globe and Mail and HotTopics as one of the most formative social impact agencies in the world. Along the way, we’ve helped create the early policies outlining the commitment of the Government of Canada to build open systems, utilize cloud-first methodologies and reshape decisions to eschew the short-term gains of offshore delivery to recommit to employment and opportunity for its own people. Our distinguished series of events have driven discussions and disruption that firmly tipped the scales of history in favour of open and accessible technology and away from closed ecosystems that benefit the select few. And only now, a couple of decades into the bruised and battered journey, Politik stands together as a coalition of global digital leaders who share an unwavering commitment to sustainable economic development, the courage to challenge incumbency and inertia and a passionate desire to reconstruct the next economy for the greater good of all of humanity.
